New job, new apartment, just moved in a couple days ago.
Cleaned the place pretty good, though it wasn't filthy to start with, but I kept catching whiffs of a distinctive 'funk'. After 2 days I realize it's not going away, and it's localized around the fridge. Eventually it occurs to me to try looking under the fridge andOHDEARLAWDINHEAVENHALPMEJAYSUS!?.
There's a perfect square of mold / god knows what under my fridge. This shit is so wild I half expected to find Robin Williams down there, straight up Jumanji.
So,
A) Any recommendations on products I can find in Homeplus or Emart for cleaning / disinfecting my little en-suite biohazard? Fungicide? If you have it in your home, a picture would be fantastic.
B) If I unplug my fridge and tip it over to clean the bottom / shed a little light for 15 or 20 minutes, do I need to 'let it settle' for X hrs after, or can I just plug it back in? |

Bleach
Move the fridge, pour straight up bleach on the mold. Leave the bleach for like 5 minutes then mop up the bleach/mold soup with paper towels. Wash the area with soap and vinegar (REALLY SCRUB). Point a fan at the spot and make sure it is totally dry before you put the fridge back on top. As long as you don't tip the fridge over too much it should be ok to use again right away. |

| follow wings suggestions. bleach is best. i hope the crud didn't come up THROUGH the lino, did it? if so, you may have a much bigger problem. if the fridge is dripping, you may want to get your boss to look into it. anyway, after the clean up, you might be fine with a weekly/monthly wipe under there to ensure it doesn't start coming back. from what i know, mold loves damp, unventilated areas. bugs can spread it, so clean well and often. |

Just don't mix the bleach with vinegar....That can cause a chemical reaction. |

Ive got some patches myself, but on the wallpaper behind a bookcase
any way to get rid of it myself without destroying the wallpaper? |

I had a similar problem with black mold eating away at the wallpaper. All you can do is use a spray of bleach and water or white vinegar and water. Then, pull the bookcase out and open the window for a good long while. Depends on how bad the mold is though. It's a temporary fix anyway as it is coming from the wall. But if its light it should be ok. |
