An incident just occured minutes ago that is simply so astounding, hilarious
and typically Korean that I have to share though I rarely post on Daves but
wish to share~~~ ENJOY!

I recently returned to Korea last weekend after a 6 month hiatus of visiting
family and recharging the ole' batteries after 8 years of living here. I live in
a simple, yet furnished, one room apartment. Just yesterday the TV AND
controller went on the fritz. I stayed in the same building before leaving 6
months ago and I'm on good and friendly terms with the owner/halmoni.

So I called her up and mentioned the problem and ended with a promise of replacing the TV~ "cool!", I thought!

So I'm here waiting when I felt a bowel movement give me a heads up and
went to the john with the bathroom door wide open. Suddenly a loud,
"BAM-BAM-BAM" of someone knocking at my door followed by the metallic
movement of my apartment door handle and thought, "Ah, SHIT!"

I had to pinch that pasta, pull up my draws and run to the door in 2
seconds flat!

And there was my adorable halmoni with face mask opening my door with
her husband carrying the replacement television in tow~~ I put on my best
face and welcomed them in with an appreciative, yet concealed
embarrassed and...*ahem*...uh...uncomfortable feeling. The husband
quickly set up the TV and then mentions, "Ah, I gotta use the toilet..."

"Ah, SHIT!" I thought to myself yet again.

He goes in (he couldn't have missed what I had already started) and I hear
the beginnings of a stream going into the toilet when he just as quickly
pauses to let out a loud fart. Streaming continues and stop again, another
loud fart, streaming continues and AGAIN: pause, loud fart for good
measure! hahaha~~~ Toilet flushes and he departs, closin the apt. door
while I'm so stunned that I turned to the veranda to smoke one in utter
disbelief when I here a loud muffled, "HHMMMFFF!" "HHMMMFFF!" and I
turn around and there is my adorable halmoni standing yet again in my
apartment with a brand new TV controller saying "Hey" presumably
through her face mask!~

I again bow and gratefully uttered my appreciation as she finally leaves.

Finally.......I go to the john to finish what I started.....laughing and shaking
my head....

Koreans, God bless 'em~~~It's so good being back!

Just curious, you said you were away from your pad for six months, was your place burglarized to any extent?
