Having recently hired Michal Jackson's ex advisor, the Pope should be careful! ^

The mockery seems ill deserved, given that this High Sparrow seems genuinely invested in helping the lesser of his flock.

This reminds me of when I first started at my school. They loved me so much, 'wow Lucas can do X' wow Lucas can do Y' - wow LUCAS CAN DO HIS JOB (whatever my job may be), only later did I learn that the person I replaced made SteelRails look and sound like an even handed kind of guy.

It's all relative....

FWIW he does seem like a good guy, and the mobile has glass walls making it difficult for him to get any 'sly' touches in on the children.

It's about time the C church gave a long lasting (good) memory to a kid.

Ah, the popemobile. Made from British technology to protect dignateries from Catholic terrorists in Northern Ireland. Ironic. And why does he even need protection. Isn't he God's representative on earth? Surely there are a hundred angels assigned to his protection. And when Yahweh decides his day is up he'll die or be killed, but not a moment before that. Yet there he is hiding behind four inches of bullet-proof glass.

Difference, I suppose, is that bullets are real, while his deity is not.

I don't mean to step on your agenda here, but the vehicle from the event referenced is open air on all sides except the roof.

First I've seen of it. Must be one of the new measures implemented by this new pope. I never recall seeing the previous dude, or the dude who preceded him, in a popemobile with open sides. Seems like he's trying to play down the monarchical aspects of the papacy, and actually trying to show some openness and humility. (Or it could be just all PR.)

Can anyone imagine Jesus travelling about in a popemobile?

No don’t be stupid.

Maybe an elephant.

He could have it suck up water and shower thousands of people. If he blessed the trunk first, thousands of people could get holy water.

That would be so cool, holy water coming out of an elephant’s nose.

It could also act as a weapon if anyone tried to attack Jesus.

You're confusing the OT with the NT. The NT is full of early Christians being put to death in violent ways.

... what does a quote about Jesus from the Gospel of John have to do with whether or not God will protect the Pope?
