Let's take a cue from the Korean schools/newspapers and start an essay competition.

The essay should be highly analytical, critical and unbiased with a topic 'Why Canada is the best country in the world'.

The winner will receive one million won and a trip to Dokdo.

Canada is a great country. Perhaps not the "greatest" (is there even such a thing?) but it's definitely one of the best.

Clean, safe, free, big, lots of variety in landspace, people, cutlure, weather, and recreational activities. Lots of educational, and profressional/economic opportunity for all genders, races, and religions.

We have our ups and downs, pros and cons, and ike all countries our people can be either great, complete yahoos, or somewhere in the middle.

I'm lucky to have been born and raised there and I wouldn't trade that for any other country in the world. Perhaps I could be equally happy if I were born and raised in a dozen or so other countries (US, UK, Aussie, Sweden, Norway, France, et al), but I don't think being from any of those places would have given me any more benefits than having been born in Canada.

I agree. It seems that the old phrase "The grass is always greener on the other side" has, in recent times, come to mean "People are always jealous on the other side". Green, of course, symbolizing envy.

Starbucks and Walmart, eh? More American companies, eh? Say it ain't so, eh.

I'm still kind of baffled at the popularity of Tim Horton's.

And all these evil American stores are doing nothing but bringing American employees with.... oh wait.

I mean: and all these evil American stores are doing nothing but creating work for all the American people who manufacture their... oh, wait.

Nevermind.
