My ARC expires on July 20.
If I want to stay in Korea (to study one semester) but I don't want a D-10, then I need to leave Korea before July 20 and come back.
Because I will be studying in a language program, I don't want to be gone too long, so it will probably be go one day, back the next (maybe even same day).
But when I come back, I will still be in the Immi system as having an ARC, so can I come back on a tourist visa and get the 3 months?
Summary:
ARC expires : July 20
Leave Korea July 12
Return Korea July 13
Can I get a 90 day tourist stamp upon return? or will my still valid ARC prevent that?
Thanks |

You need to turn in the ARC at immigration and cancel your status of sojourn as you exit if you want to return on a tourist stamp.
You cannot get a tourist stamp if you have a valid status of sojourn.
Also, be aware that the airline MAY give you problems and MAY NOT allow you to board the return flight if you don't have passage out of Korea within 90 days.
