I just hid my hedgehog down my pants when I came over.

When I arrived in Korea I went to a jimjilbang and it wasn't till I was blow drying my nether regions that I realized he was still tucked away down there.

The blow dryer must have gave him a fright, the poor little fella.

Ah, you are one of those who blow drys their balls. I thought that was a practice limited to Koreans?

I've never figured out why expats frown on that practice. Its healthy to thoroughly dry yourself & I certainly do it every time I go to the sauna. Pits & between the toes too. Whats the issue? [Aside from the overheated mini-porcupine.]

...in 2008 a published study was conducted by the University of Westminster to compare the levels of hygiene offered by paper towels, warm air hand dryers and the more modern jet-air hand dryers.[5] It found that after washing and drying hands with the warm air dryer, the total number of bacteria was found to increase on average on the finger pads by 194% and on the palms by 254%; drying with the jet air dryer resulted in an increase on average of the total number of bacteria on the finger pads by 42% and on the palms by 15%; and after washing and drying hands with a paper towel, the total number of bacteria was reduced on average on the finger pads by up to 76% and on the palms by up to 77%.[5]

The scientists also carried out tests to establish whether there was the potential for cross contamination of other washroom users and the washroom environment as a result of each type of drying method. They found that:

the jet air dryer, which blows air out of the unit at claimed speeds of 400 mph (≈640 km/h), was capable of blowing micro-organisms from the hands and the unit and potentially contaminating other washroom users and the washroom environment up to 2 metres away
use of a warm air hand dryer spread micro-organisms up to 0.25 metres from the dryer
paper towels showed no significant spread of micro-organisms.

In 2005, in a study conducted by TÜV Produkt und Umwelt, different hand drying methods were evaluated.[6] The following changes in the bacterial count after drying the hands were observed:

etc

etc

etc.

Maybe you need to amp up your hairdryer a bit?

Have you never been to a gym in the US? To be fair, most of the dudes blow drying their balls or ass crack in American gyms are usually old dudes that just don't give a F.

No, I don't actually blow dry my pubs, only when my hedgehog hitches a ride.

And I don't use the communal hair brushes especially after seeing guys brush their pubs with them Shocked .

le-paul:

I know about those studies & in fact as a result I never use a hand-dryer in a public washroom.

But we're talking about public baths, not public toilets! The grooming/change areas of the spas I go to are kept scrupulously clean & the people drying themselves have just come from a shower, a soak, a sauna, & a soapy cleansing scrub. Air blowing around there is a total non-issue.

Dampness left around your pubes, pits, & toes, on the other hand, is an open invitation for bacterial discomforts from other sources.

[This thread has gone so far offtrack! Hope hedgehog guy was satisfied with the info provided earlier.]

Ill keep it brief then.

You truly believe that after you come out of a shower and start walking about in bare feet, there's no contact with bacteria/fungi? Or start rubbing yourself down with sauna towels?
