I notice they offer unlimited wine and some sort of faux-classy atmosphere.
Wouldn't it better to just offer everyone unlimited liquor, have em get bombed, and send them off on their merry way?
People would either get horny or desperately depressed. To paraphrase Jim Norton, you'd get that one girl (and more than one at an event like this) who would start crying "Nobody loves me..." Which in a situation like this is halfway where a creep like you needs her to be. Win-win. |

I don't know how the "international" variants of this go down, but I do know that some time back a very nice women who worked at my school attended a (non-international) speed dating session and ended up getting married to a quiet and romantically inexperienced yet very kind and charming man. It seems to me that if you want a drunken bar-style hook-up, it's probably best to just go to a bar, isn't it? If you turn an event like this into a bar, though, you'll just alienate the target demographic. |
