My contract ends on February 28, 2015. My ARC is ALSO slated to end on February 28, 2015. For my previous job, I was given an additional month on the visa..for this job, I wasn't.

I want to switch to D-10 at the end of my contract. I'm planning on traveling to the United States for a couple of months, and I don't want to go through the hassle of getting new paperwork.

So, my question is: do I simply apply for the D-10 in the weeks leading up to my contract ending / visa expiration date? Am I going to need to extend my E-2 visa somehow so that I have adequate time for processing? Anybody had this situation before?

Be careful, I think 2 months is ok, but if you are out of country for 90 days (if I'm not mistaken) you'll need a new CRC from your home country regardless of your D-10 status. That's what I was told anyway.

Plan to apply for your D10 sometime in your last week of employment. A LOR from your employer will facilitate the process.

Don't plan your flight out of Korea for a few weeks beyond that. Goshiwans are cheap).

You can only be out of Korea for 90 days before you need new docs.
