It's fine, because she's tall and mature, according to the pageant president. |

I'm surprised that they knew how tall she was long before they knew how old she was.
Questions about age are among the first questions a Korean will ask a person.
As for their complaints about her bahavior, they seem to be ignoring the fact that she is a kid. |

What is it about East Asian societies that make them produce such prolific numbers of kiddy fiddlers? Korea already has the dubious distinction of being the number one purveyors of child prostitution in Asia, and the Japanese have only just banned kiddie porn. |

I was trying to figure out what the dude's point was in saying she's unlikely to grow more, as a justification for letting her join the contest and get the surgery if she wins.
She has the body now that she'll have when she turns 18, so it's ok? I think I understand, but it's twisted any way you look at it. |

Pretty much every society on Earth were "kiddie fiddlers" up until about 1950. This is really only a recent development that has taken place with life expectancy doubling in a 100 year span between 1860 and 1960 and infant mortality drastically decreasing. Not to mention that telling age with East Asians can be a touch difficult. Getting married at 16 is shocking now, but fairly common within the lifetimes of many of our grandparents or great grandparents.
That being said, I don't really see this so much in Taiwanese and Chinese pop culture. Seems they take a dimmer view of it than Japan or Korea and good for them that they do so. It's a new era for humanity and 18 is 18 now. |

Hilarious, and probably true.
In the thread about who would win in a showdown; Steelrails or Atwood, I was undecided. I now submit my answer --> Steelrails. |

The historical standard for a girl to be suitable for marriage was if she was able to 'bleed'. Back in the day that was like 14 to as late as 20. These days, because of whatever we're putting into food, it's like 10. |

According to wikipedia she is only 15. Is it legal to buy a boob job for a 15 year old? |
According to Wikipedia, she is now 18 and will be 19 on 13 October 2014. To be fair, thee 1995 birthday is in the wiki article's sidebar and the 1998 birthday is an accusation quoted in the somewhat garbled text of the wiki article. |

Looks like a revisionist historian is at it again.
Next week she'll be 25 and Japanese. |

Pretty funny post considering how I took you to the woodshed on the sugar thread.
Since you like percentages, I'd say you're 100% wrong.
BTW, that's an all too typical post from herr goebbels, who you call sr. It starts off with an unsupported exaggerated over-generalization and goes downhill from there. |

Lots of kimchi washed down with a salted caramel mocha grande, no doubt. |
