|
|
Quote: |
When he was 11th grade in 2009, the man felt attracted to the teacher who treated him nice while counseling him for future education. Since then, he started to stalk her. The man called her on phone until she finally answered and went to her house. Later when his mother forced him to quit alternative school, he in 2011 distributed an email that he had a relationship with her to people in school. When the teacher complained about it he attempted raping her and was charged with attempted sexual abuse (violation of special law on punishing sexual abuse crimes). As he couldn`t win her heart, the man murdered her with deadly weapon in December last year and was arrested and charged. |
While this story is a tragic, at last Korea is adopting more severe punishments for the many heinous crimes that take place here. No more mere slaps on the wrist.
A man sentenced to 35 years in prison, longest jail sentence ever in Korea

Korea needs a boatload of therapists and psychiatrists.
Personality disorders run riot unchecked here.
people like this should be identified and given mental/ emotional treatment early on -as they are in the west. |

Yeah, never read any stories about any psychos back home running loose and raping people, going on killing sprees or just acting plain cuckoo.
Look, there is a stigma against seeking mental health support here and that's a serious issue, but to pretend that back home every nutjob is identified early, treated, and incidents are prevented is a ridiculous nostalgic basher fantasy. |

why are you talking about 'back home' again?
since youre on the subject, again, the difference is that at least its addressed in other western countries and treated according to relevant, up to date research.
while Korea treats you with human flesh, kimchi, soju, *beep* knows what in those little plastic baggies and dogs cocks... |

Really? I was under the impression that any issue that has real researched solutions is debated and not addressed. Some one then shouts "MURICAHHH!!!" then either "DON DAKE MUH GEUNS!!!" or "It is only a theory" (This one works for many things)
Sometimes Steel Rails goes "off the rails" but from what I have seen it is like in 1% of threads. Most people then treat SR like his opinions and observations are saying things that SR's current post does not say. I seriously don't understand the vitriol against SR. Most of the time SR writes with a very cautious and objective voice so give SR a break. |

I don't know, why don't you ask the poster who said this-

Don't moan at me for bringing up back home. Yell at him, the OP.
"Korea's messed up. Back home this wouldn't happen."
"Yeah, but back home that stuff happens too."
"Why are you talking about back home? We're talking about Korea!!!"
If you want to compare Korea to back home, don't whine when people compare Korea to back home. And don't whine only at the people who use it to disagree with you. If you are against it, go after everyone who does it, starting with the OP, not me. |

They just stick them in the Army, give them a rifle, label them "special" and keep a close eye on them. |

This is where reason goes to die and Steelrails is (largely) reasonable until he gets bogged down in endless, drawn out debates about minutiae totally unrelated to his original points. |
