Now you've added cooking shows and Italian restaurants. Next it will be from movies. Don't forget foods introduced by the U.S. military or that they first ate in an English class and were proved by the native speaking instructor. Or foods that have Korean copies. So make your final argument and then I'll get back to you on it.
Or you could just admit you were wrong. |
My final argument is that you have as much evidence to support your conclusion as I do mine, except mine has the added benefit of common sense. |
Roundhouse kick, points scored. Back to your corners, prepare for final round. |
I realize sr needs all the help he can get, and a second water bearer, in the form of yourself, was probably strongly recommended by the undercommittee to the committee for public relations of KAU (Korean Apologists Unite), but it looks like you're not up to the task.
sr needs help with self-criticism, not encouragement for his randomly illogical posts, which give KAU a black eye.
Keep that in mind, comrade, if you do not want to face your own course of re-education and self-criticism. |

TRULLY, after reading this, and most other threads on this site, I am simply a mortal amongst God's. |

I award points fairly.
Even you have received a point from me when you successfully performed basic mathematics. |

Keeping score?!?
Korea, where everything is a competition, and where when the home team loses you can hear the collective whine.
Your whining, kn, is music to me ears. |

You can complain about the rules, or you can formulate your rebuttal. We are waiting patiently, yet with great anticipation... |
By anyone's rules, your man sr's argument was a loser.
You seem to be all butthurt about that, but these are the breaks--
Break it up, break it up, break it up! |

For example, what's the latest fad food in Korea? Lentils.

And are lentils popular because Costco has them OR because Koreans read web reports about their health benefits?
Do you really believe that some Korean person randomly bought lentils at Homeplus and this kickstarted a word-of-mouth campaign that led to a lentil craze? |

Probably popular due to many always peering into the shopping carts of the 'whiteys' to see what they are buying. That, in turn, turned into the "word-of-mouth" lentil craze scenario. |

Some Internet savant claimed they are a top five food. How they first became available I don't know. They may have already been available at HomePlus. They would have been available through iHerb; the reviews they post there attests to its popularity with Koreans.
But that in no way supports your argument:
Quote: |
Homeplus didn't "make" EMart stock foreign products. Consumer demand did, largely from Koreans traveling overseas and returning and demanding foreign products. |
I asked you to provide evidence of that and instead you decided to attack me. I even helped you think of more ways the Korean consumer could have been exposed to international foods and you attacked again.
But no matter--would e-mart have stocked such foods if HomePlus and Costco hadn't first? If they had not demonstrated Korean consumers' appetite for such products would E-mart have upped and done it on their own?
Considering how strongly Korean companies rely on benchmarking, doubtful. |

This reminds me of the thread where it was said that Ks in the States grow their own comfort food. It's become a comedy to say the least. |

I heard that there were a lot of problems. Money was one for some time, but recently some of the brand name shops in Homeplus were caught selling imitation stuff as brand name. That was the final straw that broke the camels back. |

The HomePlus drama really has you that down? |
Nope. Actually, I just went to Carrefour last night and I'm hitting up Wal-Mart Saturday. Hey, I might even go check out the sales offerings at Tesco. I'm kind of a happy camper regarding shopping, evidently. |
Um, ok, I'll bite. Are you in China or something? |

I hope not but I've noticed a lot of the Homeplus/Tesco stuff is getting rarer, less stocked, and pricier than before. End of days, I think... |
