Roughly translated as:

Sorry to tell you Lucas, but what you have posted IS NOT what the interviewers are asking for. That may be the North Korean version, but it is definitely not the South Korean version. The National Anthem they want is the one that is traditionally sung at sporting events as well as other government sponsored functions all around the nation of South Korea. They want the first verse of the NA and chorus, and nothing more. Nice try though. 
Verse One: "동해 물과 백두산이 마르고 닳도록
하느님이 보우하사 우리나라 만세."
Chorus: "무궁화 삼천리 화려 강산
대한 사람 대한으로 길이 보전하세." |

I wonder if anyone else has heard of or have knowledge about the following.
A friend of mine who recently completed the Level 5 culture course along with myself and submitted his application was told that the KIIP Language points shown on the English version of the points award document (showing 16 points for completing level4 KIIP/TOPIK 4) is incorrect. He was told that the Korean version shows 15 points, and was awarded such.
Anyone else noticed a difference like this? |

He applied in Daegu.
I spoke to him a few moments ago. He told me he called 1345 hotline, the operator which then contacted Daegu immigration, and confirmed that despite what the PDF's say, the points awarded for KIIP 4/TOPIK are 15.
Weird. I'm not sure if that is a Daegu immigration thing, etc. Just putting it out there for others that, at least here in Daegu, they are giving only 15 points |

I'm the one who called. It's not just a Daegu thing as I asked the operator if points differ by region. She said it's nationwide.
The most accurate point system sheet is in Korean and dated April 22, 2013 (this was shown to me at Daegu Immigration when I went last week). The most updated English version online is still dated April 17, 2013.
I raised quite a fuss over this both on the phone and in person, so hopefully, they will update the websites so these updated PDFs are available for download. |
