Their actions are based upon the excuses by foreign teachers who have been busted for breaking the law. In the past they have all acted stupid and said "I didn't know that was illegal."
Hence you all need an education. |

Crimes committed by English teachers in Korea are tiny in proportion to the tens of thousands of E2, D2, D4 and (native English speaking) F series visa holders.
Even when crimes are committed the vast majority involve traffic offences and small fry drug possession.
The problem of criminality amongst English teachers in Korea is a myth invented by a Korean media desperate for someone to scapegoat. |

Its just different here.
Get shitfaced drunk, fight, hit up a brothel. Sleep it off on the street. All good.
Smoke a joint and relax, nope go to jail.
Thats mainly what they're worried about. Nevermind cancer or liver failure or rape culture.
Just make sure you dont smoke a joint you foreigners! |

The vast majority of foreign teachers in Korea have some sort of illegal side job going on. I have known a number of foreigners in Korea who thought drinking and driving was no big deal. And there is no such thing as small fry drug possession in Korea. I see nothing wrong with the Korean authorities wanting to have a little discussion about it. |

I think that lesson was taught at the Korean Cultural Assimilation Course along with how it's fine to run red lights if it looks clear to you and stopping on crosswalks is ok as long as your hazard lights are flashing.
I think the next lesson is on internet trolls... |

Yea no doubt.
There's more drunk driving here on an average Friday night than you'll see back home in a year. |

I am okay with them talking to me about it as long as they are okay with me not listening.
If the crime rate here is higher than they want, the answer lies within the Korean populace. |

Let's not get snippy!
stan's the only foreigner in SK who's not breaking the law on a regular basis. He's a paragon of virtue who's not afraid to address the many wrongs of the foreigner community in SK. We should applaud such law abiding sycophants. I mean citizens.
Besides that, I bet he was the best hall monitor his middle school ever had. |

Vast majority? What's that? Like 80-90%?
I don't think you know what you are talking about. 4 teachers at my place of employment. No one has a side job. The group of people I socialize with, I can think of 2 out of about 15. So that's less then 20 %. Even if some of them are lying, which I don't think they are, it's still probably going to be under 50% Not even a majority, let alone a vast one.
Therefore my conclusion is Stan Rogers is spouting bullshit, because when he thinks about some techers doing private lessons on the side it hurts his feelings. So he lashes out at other teachers. "You're all doing it. You bastards! Who stole my wallet!! Oh....here it is". A regular paranoid Patsy.
Also I heard that he likes to lick the ballsacks of retired ajosshis. Not all of them, but a vast majority of them. |
