As I said earlier, this is no small matter. It won't just be brushed under the rug. The flight attendants of Korean Air must be loving this development. The next time she flies the flight attendant should make a huge display of providing the nuts on a plate. "Your Majesty."
On reflection, I doubt she will fly Korean Air for a while until this blows over. She'll be travelling on foreign airlines for a while, hoping not to be recognized.
Oh, and the Coopster is all over it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b-XugZUwrwI |

Anyways, this whole thing is just nuts. And to think, that poor flight attendant is probably working for peanuts!
Thanks folks, I'll be in town all week. |
I heard that she's so sorry for her outburst and is now trying to make almonds for her actions.
A Prosecutor spokesman said, "We walnut tolerate anymore of this from Korean Air."
Nope? Anybody? Ok! Just the one guy at the back who got that. |

After reading about her and her dad's apologies and seeing the photos, they did appear to be genuinely contrite about what happened. I think it took an especially big man, figuratively speaking, for the dad to make the comments he made, and I think the daughter learned her lesson. I'm hoping it all dies down. They effed up, but they're human just like the rest of us and we've all had bad days. Most of us are just so low on the totem pole, we have the luxury of posting about our eff-ups anonymously on the TIFU subreddit instead of someone else talking about our eff-ups on CNN. Plus, there could've been some sort of pre-menstrual or menopausal factor that contributed to the incident. I'm hoping the public cuts them some slack as long as it doesn't happen again. |

In other news, the porn star from Korea also known as "Almond Tease" was summoned to the prosecutor's office yesterday to give her own testimony about flying the friendly skies. |

"....her dissatisfaction with a junior attendant for serving her a packet of macadamia nuts without removing them from a bag and putting them on a plate. To get him off the plane, the aircraft had to return to the departure gate at JFK International Airport in New York on Dec. 5."
Well, this does explain a lot. Macadamia nuts are VERY HIGH CLASS NUTS.
And, high class nuts MUST BE TREATED AS THEY DESERVE!!!!!!! |

They don't really deserve much slack, and the apology is just typical PR backpedaling to keep shares and profits up. Either way, they'll be just fine. Zero sympathy.
How many times has she done this kind of over the top abuse to regular joes that never got reported? Probably plenty of times. Supposedly, this incident was typical of her behavior, not just a "bad day". She needed some serious reining in and a reality check. |

She prefers nuts on her chin, definitely not on a plate. |

So, Vice President Cho kicked the chief flight attendant off the plane. She observed a junior flight attendant handling his nut sack, and asking her if she wanted some...
Next time fly Virgin Airlines...
Here is the story in a nutshell...
Heather Cho demanded the removal of a crew member from a flight last Friday.
Ms Cho, a vice-president of the firm, forced the Incheon-bound flight to taxi back to the terminal in New York.
The airline said checking service standards was part of her job, and she had the pilot's backing. But officials said she was a passenger at the time.
Local media reports said that a junior attendant had offered Ms Cho nuts in a bag.
Ms Cho, daughter of company boss Cho Yang-ho, then questioned the chief flight attendant over in-flight service standards and ordered him off the plane.

Exactly.
That kind of sociopathic bitchiness doesn't come out of nowhere. No one has a day that is that bad that they have to start acting like the asshole of all assholes. She's a lunatic bitch, she has probably acted this way her whole life, now she got called out on it.
Also the fact they were checking the cabin crew's phones to see who leaked the story doesnt bode well for any kind of real regret.
They are in damage control becuase God knows, if there's one thing Koreans are good at, it's latching on to some little issue and making it into a full blown, earth shattering scandal. Korean Air/Hanjin know this shite could spin way way out of control. That's why sh'e their in funeral garb, low talking her apologies. |

I guess you're right. I never really considered the Korean jurisdiction side of it - at least as far as criminal charges are concerned. Still, office raiding seems extreme, almost like a power play or something.
Anyway, I guess this law is the one they will get her on:
Quote: |
The aviation law bans any behavior that disturbs aircraft operations by either force or authority. Also, passengers are not allowed to yell or use violent language for safety reasons.
Those who violate the law can face up to 10 years in jail. |
I find it interesting they thought to add the "or authority" part when they crafted that law. Were they considering situations just like this?
And in a newly disclosed detail:
"The People's Solidarity for Participatory Democracy, the civic group that filed a complaint with the Seoul Western District Prosecutors' Office Wednesday, has already secured testimony from a Korean Air official that Cho threw a book at a flight attendant during her "nut rage."" |

That's one tactic: the fake apologies; that's when they know they have almost no defense.
The other tactic: to sue for damaging their "reputation" (ignoring the actual behavior of the event), but I guess they didn't have a nut to stand on in this situation. |

Totally agree. The rich should know better too, with their high-priced educations at places like Harvard. No sympathy what so ever. She should have never been made a VP. It's pretty obvious that being a daughter of the CEO is the only reason she could have even gotten such a position. Korean nepotism at its best. Samsung, LG, and Hyundai better watch out. |

Are you joking?
Although the old man is probably pissed off at his little princess for causing him grief, they are not truly sorry. She did not really learn a lesson.
The elite in countries like Korea, Thailand, Japan, Taiwan, and China look at their workers as little slaves that they like to see sitting before them. This is also a great example of how the powerful bully those they consider beneath them.
Her whole life she's been treated as a princess, probably. And she regards her father's company's employees as servants. She didn't learn anything from this. She was able to get another job very easily somewhere inside the group the next day. |
