In the grand macadamia bag or plate expedition, how do you think Captain James Tiberius Kirk would/should have handled the situation?
What would he have done?
Beam me up his solution.

More importantly how would Captain Picard have handled it? Or Captain Sisko, since he usually had to deal with the most number of civilians.
Anyways, Starfleet is a government organization and being a passenger carrying service is not their mission. That would probably fall on private services.
Which means we really should ask- What would Quark do? |

Picard NEVER had an idea what to do about anything. Someone else always came up with the solutions and all Picard ever did was say, "Make it so."
Kirk was a REAL captain. He also has something else that Picard did not have. PERSONALITY. Picard sucked. |

And Sisko had to debate everything to the verge of an emotional breakdown. Kirk is a real captain, makes manly decisions, and lets Spock clean up the mess.
Janeway, and Sulu, should be included in Kirk's group of what real captains should be like. |

That's what a Captain is supposed to do. If a Captain believes he knows everything under the sun and doesn't listen to information from his subordinates, then he very soon is going to make some terrible decisions.
Remember, one of the people giving him advice was Data.
Captain Picard utilized the strengths of every member of his crew and synthesized their divergent viewpoints and areas of expertise into the course of action to be taken. He allowed ideas to conflict with each other in a free exchange and judge them based on their merits. And when the time came, he wasn't afraid to buck everyone and issue his own decision. But he made sure to be thorough. |

Wrong: Kirk had (planted) HAIR, that which Picard desperately lacked. You're discriminating against the follicle challenged. |

This is correct - Star Trek is based on an equal society/socialist utopia, not some sexist buffoon jock captain making irrational decisions in the heat of the moment because he relies on emotions over intellect. If anyone from ST:TNG sucked, it was Riker. Smug, a lopsided walk and that goddamn smirk of his. God I hate Riker. |
