| If he fired you and you can get that in writting, then because you have worked there over six months he has to pay you a months salary (korean law) I had a boss that tried to get out of paying me, I went to the office and they had moved but i tracked him down and hung around, i find with Koreans if you make a scene they pay, plan to make a scene when people can see you, the more the better. |

Ah- he fired me- technically under 6 months. He with-held my visa until I got my E2...so I worked several months without it...He said that it was being processed- taht I would need a release letter- and if I quit- I wouldn't get it... (idiot me..)
His reason for firing me..he said I complained too much..and he didnt want to pay me...He is hiring two foreign part timers to take my job...so that makes all of the workers there cheap- because they are all illegal...
Going to imm. tomorrow- pray!!! |

| Just tell him to give you the money and realease letter or you will report him and the other teachers to immigration. Also, communicate with the parents. |

wowser...
did i hear you right?...you were given an exit order?
If you were given an exit order...then that means your boss has notified immigration that you no longer work for him.
the first thing tomorrow, like 8:30 am, you should get down to the immi office and check out your situation. make sure you have your boss's name and te hagwan address, so you can rat on him for hiring illegal workers. i would also download and print out the release letter form that is on efl-law. fill out the release letter yourself, go down to immigration, and tell them he refuses to sign it, even though he fired you.
you should also download the tax calculation pages from efl-law, and calculate the taxes that he should be withdrawing from your pay.
i will bet you anything that he is cheating the government like he is cheating you. once you calculate what he should be withdrawing from your gross pay, you should report to the tax ministry that he is not deducting the right taxes.
this will cause a great discomfort for him. he will have to open his books to investigators.
you said that you have no proof that he paid you....well, that works very well for you because HE has no proof that he DID pay you. |

Well, immigration didn't go according to plan...
I have not been 'repoted' to immigration...Immigration said that the only way my E2 can be cancelled is if I go to immigration with my employer...Immgration said the letter of release issue was between my employer and myself...
How dio I contact the Labor Board...the 'contact us' link was out on their website..I still want to report him to the Labor board but I am unsure how to get in contact...
Arrrrgghhhh I can't believe all this. It would seem that I have a clear case..I am not really sure what to do from here...
What am i best to do- demand that my employer fire me properly- and go to immigration with him? Keep trying for a letter of release? Stay in the country indef. until I can get things sorted out legally? Riot outside the school every day until I leave?
Oh for morality, promises, contracts and law to be upheld!!! ARRRRGGGHH again!!!
I have contacted several lawyers, but communication is an issue and they are yet to get back to me... |

I'm not sure if going to the lawyers will be worth it. I do not believe the lawyers will be very happy to take the case and the cost of it will just not be worth it. At this point you have to get a formal release letter that gets you off the E2 visa with him, and you'll have a short time to get another job. |

Don't matter. The LB doens't care if your work is legal or not. Only the contract counts. Just get the guy to say you worked there infront of an agent or bring in a signed contract, bank statements...
Contact the LB free intpreters if you need Englsih help.
