I recently heard there is a 30 day limit to staying in your home country on a D-10 visa and then you need new docs.
Is this correct?

90 days out of Korea and you need new docs.

No PROVIDED your D10 remains valid and you re-enter and find work before it expires.
Yes, IF your D10 expires or you cannot find new work and transfer back to an E2 before your D10 expires.
