)—Police in the Danish capital of Copenhagen were warning residents to stay of the streets early Sunday after two shootings within hours of each other left at least one person dead and six others wounded.
It was unclear whether the two shootings were connected, police said in an online statement.
The second incident took place about 10 hours after a deadly terror attack. In the latest incident, shots were fired near a synagogue, police said.
One person was wounded by a shot to the head and two police officers were wounded, police said. There were no details on how serious the injuries were.
Police sad the gunman ran from the scene. The shooter was a man dressed in a light gray jacket, black pants and black shoes.
Earlier, a gunman stormed a building where controversial cartoonist Lars Vilks and his supporters had gathered, killing a man and wounding three police officers before fleeing, police said. |

Notice the lack of interest in this thread.

To be fair the amount of traffic on the current events forum has dropped quite a bit of the past year. |

What else is to be said. Europe needs to remove the invaders. It can be done nicely now (as Denmark is starting to do) or messily in the future. |

I don't have that much against Muslims, just a few annoying things about them. However a very large Muslim population that doesn't want to assimilate in any way is unacceptable. Europe is the light of the world (accept for the blimies ) and the Muslims definitely are not. |

But doesn't it beg the question of why they have no desire whatsoever to assimilate? It's not as if this is universally the same in every country. |

In many cases, probably because they're refugees or asylum seekers rather than people who went thorugh the standard immigration process. There's a huge difference between a man who immigrated to Sweden because he's an educated, Swedish-speaking engineer that wants to work for a company there and live in a Swedish cultural environment, and a uneducated subsistence farmer who ended up in Sweden because a local civil war tore apart his country. |

This is fair, but asylum seekers have often thrived in the US. Not so much in the EU. Maybe it's just that the EU is a lot more generous in terms of to whom it grants asylum, but is that the whole story? |

Obviously on a case-by-case basis it's true that individual refugees may thrive, but I'm not sure the corresponding implication that Muslim refugee communities in America somehow integrate better is necessarily true. I've heard about problems regarding the Somali community in Minnesota, for example. To the extent that it causes less of a fuss in America, how much of it is because America's larger population simply makes it seem less relevant? How much of it is because the media conciously ignores it or describes it in vague terms (e.g. using the term "youths")? How much of it is because Americans are just inured to criminal behavior by minorities in a way that Scandanavians might not be? I know you're just questioning rather than strictly declaring anything, and that's fine, but keep in mind the questioning here ought to go both ways. |
