I couldn't agree more. I just don't know how they figure it's Canadians and Australians. I have a slight suspicion that they might be gyopos trying to introduce this aspect of Western "culture" to Korea. Anyway, lock them up whoever they are.

Yeah, not a bad guess. Certainly wouldn't bet against that outcome.

They should have spray painted a massive turd. People here would have loved it.

Ask all they want, nothing's going to happen. Going through a court in another country would cost far more than the damage inflicted (that includes the clean-up costs).

You're in favor of torture? Caning and flogging are barbaric practices that have no place in a modern judicial system.

How about the death penalty? Half the US states have executed at least one in the last 10 years.

I'm in support of Singapore's flogging tough, especially for snot-nosed German punks.

I think they should publicly shame the graffiti idiots and place on open letter in an Australian newspaper asking the perpetrators parents to pay for the removal of the graffiti.

And I'm in favour of people being punished in accordance with the law of whichever country they happen to be in. I think it's incredibly arrogant for people to tell a country that their laws are barbaric and have no place in a modern judicial system. If you don't agree with the laws either don't go to that country, or don't break the law in that country.

I personally think that level of arrogance should result in a caning. Wink

You might've noticed over the years that I am 100% against the death penalty. And, as you mentioned yourself, half the states in the US have not executed someone in the last decade.

Why? It's not as barbaric as execution but it's still a barbaric practice. Why not bring back tattooing of offenders, too?

If you're stupid enough to tag in Singapore, I think you kind of have it coming. I'd imagine most of the thrill comes out of knowing that if you get caught, the consequences are quite severe.

But Singapore has one of the lowest crime rates in the world, so whatever they're doing seems to be working.

Plus they aren't afraid to deport people. Just say after their mini-riots last year (or was it the year before?), quite a few of them were deported within the week.

Yea, you might be safe from petty crime; it's the police you've got to worry about.

But freedom's just another word, right?

They should have to clean the paint off with toothbrushes and have their own stuff spray painted with "Vote Tory" or "Hi Seoul". Nothing wrong with stern punishment.

But caning is just ridiculous.
