Anyone currently working for this program or worked for it in the recent past? I've seen multiple ads stating hours of 11-5:30. I have an F4 visa and am thinking of applying; can anyone give more info on what it's like to teach with JLS After-school? Will the co-teacher be in the class with me? What's it like using CHESSCool? Are lesson plans very strict/structured?

Bit late, but I worked for their after school program a few years ago, and while there were some sour moments here and there it was overall a decent experience.

The plans are very structured in terms of content, and they did have a pretty big emphasis on games/edutainment when I taught there. As for co-teachers, that depends on your specific placement because each one does things a little differently. In my case, I was with a co-teacher and alternated teaching roles each day; sometimes I was the lead teacher, other times the assistant.

They backed down on giving winter vacation, and there were a few other problems I had with them, but one good thing is that when my main school (I worked at 2) ditched the program due to attendance, they let me work at one of their head offices doing random tasks to wait out my contract instead of firing me. Saw other teachers in similar situations when I was there.

Not the best, but I definitely dont regret working there for a year.
