| I cycle every evening in fair weather and I encounter an endless stream of asshats endangering my safety. Saying things are better than they were ten years ago is not the same as saying they've become courteous or safe drivers. They have not. |

Waiting on a feeble old lady to cross the street proves nothing. Unless you are setting the bar REALLY low. These people are not complete a-holes.
Replace her however with a your run of the mill pedestrian, and listen to the chorus of horns and cutting infront of the pedestrian.
I haven't seen things get worse, but I disagree that they've become noticeably better. |

On the other hand, sometimes you get these high heel princesses that lollygag when crossing. I can understand if someone just lays on the horn when they're treating a crosswalk like a fashion show runway. |

Truly classic.
I must be the only one thinking how courteous that truck driver was for running the red light to initially delay the cars advancing on their green light and the old woman.
Now you know why they do that...to protect the elderly.
For news about driver courtesy, how did that go without mention in the main article? For shame.
Track the man down and give him a medal. |

| Main thing I've noticed is they aren't as aggressive at the intersections. These days you don't have to jump-start the green light. They'll take a good few seconds after the light has changed to lay on the horn. Before they'd be on the horn a few seconds before the change if you weren't inching into the intersection already. |

Having said that, if the old woman was crossing against the light holding up traffic she deserves a slapping. I see this arrogance far too often from old people in Korea. Rules apply to them, too. |
Surprise! People have different views and opinions and how they see what is going on around them.
Stop playing the apologist card because you're too lazy to use your critical thinking skills.
Driving is still bad, but it has gotten much better.
The crosswalk on my way to my old school was a warzone when I started there 4 years ago. It seemed like they would speed up when I tried to cross (no traffic signals) This year, people actually let me cross. The wave for me to go first. It was awesome. |

Congratulations Korea! You're killing slightly less people on the road this year than in previous years. Been here for 6 years and I've yet to see any meaningful change in driver behaviour which has been allowed to flourish due to asshole drivers breaking the law and the spineless police for not enforcing it. |

| One thing that has declined, I believe significantly, is drunk driving. Many employers have a 1 strike and your out policy on this and coupled with the rise of hired driver services, the number of people out there who look like they are driving drunk is way down. Seems to be a much bigger taboo these days. |

But what about texting while driving, which makes drivers just as distracted as if they were drunK? |
