Hey guys and gals,

What American restaurant chain would you like to see come to Korea?

Personally, I would die for a Chipotle, Arby's o rWendy's to come here!

As far as sit down casual restaurants, Korea really needs a Denny's or IHOP for an American style breakfast.

Here's what we got so far in Korea now.

McDonald's
Burger King
Taco Bell
KFC
Subway
Popeye's Chicken
Pizza Hut
Papa John's
Quiznos
Johnny Rockets
Domino's Pizza (take out only)

TGIFriday's
Chili's (sorry, no mas!)
Bennigans
Outback Steakhouse

Intererestly enough, Wendy's and Hardee's (carls Jr in the western U.S.) used to behere, but they pulled out of Korea and Japan about 15 years ago. Hoping they come back someday.

Regional chains like In-n-out burger, Jack in the Box, Whataburger, and Shake Shack will probably never ever come to Korea. But the large multinational ones could come here like Taco Bell did a few years ago.

We have Quiznos too.

I voted Wendys. Havent tried most of the others.

Isnt chick a fila chicken and waffles? That just seems really mismatched. Like chocolate and brocolli or something.

Carls Jrs is ok. What is Arbys? It got a bad rap in Seinfeld.

I'd love an all-day breakfast.

I had an Arbys sandwich in Hawaii, and it was horrendous. Even Paris Baguette make better sandwiches. It also helped me understand why America is so full of fat bastards.

Yep, sure do miss that Grand Slam breakfast at Denny's.

Same with Wendy's chili and Frosty.

Arby's has some awesome roast beef sandwiches.

But Carl's Jr has the best thickest, juiciest burgers IMHO.

Much much better than anything on McDonald's or BK menu.

Quizno's is great, but their sandwiches are ridiculously overpriced here in Korea.
KFC and Pizza Hut are also way way overpriced here compared to stateside.

Shake Shack could come. They are opening a Tokyo location next year, so it's possible.

Arby's and Wendy's is disgusting. A breakfast place would be nice though. It's still going to be overpriced if Denny's or IHOP came.

Denny's used to have restaurants in Korea until around 97 or so. They had recorded announcements in English stating that you could have breakfast at any time, but I once tried to order breakfast outside of normal hours and got turned down!

As it's already been pointed out, Hardee's and Wendy's were also in Korea and left around the same time.

Back in the 90's I used to frequent Wendy's a lot, especially in the summertime. Those Frosty cups got me through some hard times. But then again, we barely had dial-up connections and had to wait in line for a chance to email our family and friends back home. Had to have something to eat while waiting...thankfully there was a Wendy's just a stone's throw from the only internet cafe this side of the Han river.

Aren't foreigners here fat enough without wanting more fast food restaurants? Eat an apple, people.

Chili's (yes, there are still a couple around Seoul)

You got me excited here, but a quick google search reveals that there are no off-base Chilli's in Korea that a civilian can access.

I remember the Carl's Jr. at Gangnam Station and it was great for the short time it was there. I also remember the Wendy's in Sinchon that I went to all the time in my early years here.

I honestly don't know why burgers in Korea haven't gotten better overall. Korea has a glut of coffee houses and cafes, why not burgers?

Arby's- Best fries in fast food
White Castle- Delicious trash
Denny's- Crappy food, but you'd get Denny's fights you could post on World Star
Jimmy John's- Fast and decent. It'd do well with the Korean crowd
Nando's- All my friends from SA always go on and on about Nando's.
Rally's & Blimpie- SE Michigan fast food shout out

What would rock most of all is the salad bar at Whole Foods.

You can tell this is sort of an old-timer thread. No one is mentioning Five Guys or Smashburger or any other of that new stuff.

I've have IHOP (Int'l House of Pancakes) in Metro Manila and it sucked, but well, a famous chain for brunch in Korea would be great.

What is with you going into threads and announcing "I DONT LIKE THIS! LOOK AT ME! ME! I DONT LIKE IT!"

No cares what you think Smithington. And I imagine you have got a fat ass.
