I dont care about the use of tortillaland becausr I have nothing invested in and have a thicker skin than you. I would simply refer to them as Mexicans. Since you brought up the term tortillaland and muzzie, who is the bigot here?

SW and Mel Gibson have many things in comkon. Both are bigots and neither are relevant.

Good grief SW you have been pwned so badly on this thread. Everyone knows it except for you.

The mods determined something? The mods dont know their assholes from a hole in the ground.

Go ahead and call Mexico tortillaland. I am not Mexican.

In a discussion about what constitutes an ethnic slur, your response to this pretty much proves my point about you not realizing you're being a bigot.

You're the one who can't even cop to admitting that 'Kimberly' was meant insultingly. We all know it was. It has an ethnic basis. It's an ethnic slur. Just admit it. We can relegate it to the class of tasteless and wrong, but not vicious ethnic slurs of "Frog" and "Kraut" and regard someone who uses it in the same way we'd regard someone who uses those terms. Perhaps funny, but not to be taken too seriously. And the next time they come crying about some Korean cartoon with a foreigner with a big nose, we'll remind them of their previous stance.

That's all. But pretending that you were The Onion and this was some kind of satire is just a joke. There's a world of difference between Kimland and Kimberlyland. You know what it is and its what changes things from a nickname into an insult. Be honest.

Laughing It's time to leave Steel Wails alone in the isolation room with his high-tech Kimberley straightjacket. Really. The spectacle he/she is making of themselves is funny in one sense but really, let Steel Wails have the last word.

Clearly he/she is unhinged and MUST have the last post with all the frenetic outpouring of an unstable mind in meltdown. Let them have it. Especially as their eventual return to Betsyland will be such a trauma.

Steel Wails is like those abnormal litigants who keep thrashing around and flogging an issue in their own mind and then expect the rest of the world to justify it. They only stop when people and the system decide to ignore them.

So basically your point is since I'm not Mexican, I don't care if it might or might not be racist.

And the reason I brought them up was through use of analogy to compare that to 'Kimberlyland'. The use of 'Muzzie' was to draw a parallel to anti-immigrant hysteria of yore. The use of such language was to drive home the point that both Kimberlyland and the anti-Muslim paranoia on this site are prejudiced at best, bigoted at worst. The fact that you and earthquakez can't grasp the context of what was meant in those sentences speaks volumes about your reading comprehension and therefore your ability to interpret events.

No that is not my point at al about tortillaland. For one who questions others reading comphehension skills, it is ironic that you misread about everything I post. I will repeat it again, as I do for all of my remedial students.

I do not care if you call Mexico tortillaland. I am simply indifferent. If you go to Tijuana and get knifed for having a mouth as foul as your typing fingers, that one is on you.

I'm hoping the writer of the so-called book has learned...well, has learned to write English. I checked out the preview available on Amazon and that dude has almost no command of English spelling and grammar.

A funny blog. Entertaining.

I have to ask though. What is the point of your life David?

What a monumental waste! Whoring, smoking, drinking... your friends and lovers are boy diddlers, and *beep*-thieves??!

Slumming it in seedy places? I get seeing and doing that for a bit, but your life meter is running out lol.

Not to be too preachy but what about house and home? Car and job? Children? Family? Real and close friends? Good and learning experiences?

How hard is it to slum and piss in the gutter for years on end ....?

Just sayin, man Confused

I need to add him to my book about our time in Korea, sad to say he represents a number of people I met over the years.

TBPH I can't believe after looking at his blog and it being updated recently that he is still alive down there in Thailand.

Also what happened to that guy who was in jail in Korea for hitting (and killing) that ajosshi who went after his Korean girlfriend in Itaewon Station. Last I heard he was in lock up

And he still doesn't know that "everywhere" is one word, even when printing it on a t-shirt for public consumption.

Just trying to help the overweight alcoholic cigarette smokers (of whom there are many).

Marijuana can help people trying to cut back on drinking.

Marijuana is safer than alcohol. That's not to say it's completely risk free, but it's much less addictive and doesn't cause nearly as much physical damage.

Disorders like alcoholism involve disruptions in the endocannabinoid system. Because of that, some people think cannabis might help patients struggling with those disorders.

Research in Harm Reduction Journal shows that some people use marijuana as a less harmful substitute for alcohol, prescription drugs, and other illegal drugs. Some of the most common reasons for patients to make that substitution are the less adverse side effects from marijuana and the fact that it is less likely to cause withdrawal problems.

It may help reverse the carcinogenic effects of tobacco and improve lung health.

There's a fair amount of evidence that marijuana does no harm to the lungs, unless you also smoke tobacco, and one study published in Journal of the American Medical Association found that marijuana not only doesn't impair lung function, it may even increase lung capacity.

Researchers looking for risk factors of heart disease tested the lung function of 5,115 young adults over the course of 20 years. Tobacco smokers lost lung function over time, but pot users actually showed an increase in lung capacity.

It's possible that the increased lung capacity may be due to taking a deep breaths while inhaling the drug and not from a therapeutic chemical in the drug.

Those smokers only toked up a few times a month, but a more recent survey of people who smoked pot daily for up to 20 years found no evidence that smoking pot harmed their lungs.

It keeps you skinny and helps your metabolism.

A study published in the American Journal Of Medicine on April 15 of 2013 suggested that pot smokers are skinnier than the average person and have healthier metabolism and reaction to sugars, even though they do end up eating more calories.

The study analyzed data from more than 4,500 adult Americans — 579 of whom were current marijuana smokers, meaning they had smoked in the last month. About 2,000 had used marijuana in the past, while another 2,000 had never used the drug.

They studied their body's response to eating sugars: their levels of the hormone insulin and their blood sugar levels while they hadn't eaten in nine hours, and after eating sugar.

Not only were the pot users skinnier, but their body had a healthier response to sugar.
