Tokyo is great but I don't think it's No 1. Not even in the top 10 TBH. The only reason Copenhagen was bumped down is because they've factored in things such as rent, prices of coffee etc - probably without factoring in how high the base wages are.

In all my travels throughout Europe, North America, and now Asia, I have to say that Tokyo is my favorite city on the planet.

I won't be moving there in the near future but I plan to be visiting there more often. Tokyo is a beautiful city. It's a really clean and vibrant place. The people there are friendly and kind. I would describe it as an intelligent and artsy atmosphere with a lot of character. Yes, the Italy of Asia. It's the kind of place I imagine when I think of a great culture in the present time.
