|
|
I'm at a point where I am doing a lot of work in Coffee Shops (study work, not privates). The K-pop is really starting to grind my nerves. The volume, the repetition, the howling like a cat in heat (ballads). I try earplugs, but they start to hurt. I try listening to my own music, but I really prefer silence. I may try wire cutters next...
Anyway, I would love something like an over-the-ear, around-the-ear headset that is soft and eliminated outside sound. It doesn't have to be for music at all, just to block sound.
Any ideas? Hmmm I just thought about the headset that the airline ground crew wears, that would be great. I wonder what they call those?
Thanks,
Drew |

I have a pair of Shure in-ear noise isolating headphones and they do a pretty good job of canceling out most stuff
Edited - had wrong earphones listed

I would look into just renting space in a study room instead of going to coffee shops if you are studying a lot. |

Oh yeah, as for the construction ear protection, you wouldn't want that. They block out only certain frequencies and you would still be able to hear muffled voices and most of the lyrics in the music. However they might block out the coffee grinders and some of the bass |

most public libraries have areas where you can use your laptop or the library's computers, and every one I've been to has been very quiet. |

Bose QC25. For the price they are unrivaled in terms of their noise canceling feature.
Expect to pay around 400,000 for a pair. |

Have you tried your apartment? It's a long shot, but I have heard some success stories. Granted, I didn't believe them, but that's just me. I'm a bit of a skeptic. |

Thanks for the inputs!
I think "noise reduction" usually works for some kind of white noise, or humm situations. I think instead of "noise reduction" what I am looking for is "noise isolation". Could be closely related though.
Working / studying at home is nice except being at home so much means missing out on those chance encounters / happenings that come with life. I admit I am also easily distracted at home.
Heck, even at the library (now) I am compelled to check daves.
Thanks! |
