Hey there,

A few months ago I went to Ansan medical center for a prescription of xanax to help with anxiety/insomnia.

The medication has been very effective and I've been able to function at my job at a reasonably high level based on the feedback from my employer. However, the cost (without insurance) was almost 90,000 Krw.

Does anyone have any more cost-effective suggestions?

Naturally, I don't wish for my employer to find out that I suffer from occasional bursts of anxiety/insomnia....

Any help or suggestions for more affordable medical practitioners/hospitals would be much appreciated.

Thank you !

any place with an International Clinic with decent English Speaking Dr. is going to cost decent money. You may be able to do it a little cheaper at the International Clinic near the On the Border in Itaewon, there was an International Clinic in Haebongchon right where the main road turns up the big hill but that dr's rep is so-so. Last and likely best choice is Soonchunhyang Univ Hospital's International Clinic, good dr's

if you want cheap then a public Korean clinic some gu-changs have them but bring a Korean friend to help out.

The cost of health insurance will run you at least that much per month, so consider that you are actually ahead of the game here.

Just saw you do not have insurance. Well the office call will be more, not sure how much, but no where near 90,000 won. That is just nuts.

And why in the name of God do you not have insurance????? I had a major operation, spent 2 weeks in a hospital (even with a single room that makes it cost more) and after insurance all I had to pay was 700,000 won.

Seoul Sam Yook Hospital (Seoul Samyuk or Wiseng Pyongwon) Whegi dong Near whegi Station. There are many doctors who can speak english and they are not going to charge you " high ".
I think your employer had a share or "commission" from that hospital for reffering you there. It's like business. When I lost my cell, someone had found it, but I need to pick it up with this person, from other person, not the real founder, etc etc,, in other words, you should pay a person for giving you an infos. (for reffering you to that hospital. haha just kidding!
