Hello everyone!
I've gotten an offer from a government-run education center in Muju and I'm interested in finding out more about the area. I know it's known for skiing, but how is it to live there? Are there a decent number of foreigners living there? Is there any night-life?
Also, if anybody could explain what a "government-ran" school is, I'd appreciate it. It runs during normal public school hours, so I can't imagine it being a hagwon...
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!!! |

Is it for kids or adults or both? It could be some kind of community college or further education. Or is it a so-called "English Village?" These vary widely in quality, some requiring you to work on Saturdays and live in a dorm as opposed to an apartment, and so on.
If I was moving to Muji, my questions would be do I get wifi internet access ? (you almost certainly would), and is it easy to escape to the big cities for the weekends if Muji proves too dull? If I was in a very dull place, I'd want to take the bus to Seoul, Daegu or Busan, or some other big city at the weekends.
You also might want to get a feel for the working atmosphere in the centre. The office culture or office politics. Do check this out. There's a fair chance things will be okay. |
