I am pretty certain I had read somewhere that unused leave (vacation) was to be paid, yet for the life of me I cannot find the rule anywhere. Can someone point me in the right direction?

It's not covered under the Korean Labor Laws so in other words, use it or lose it, unless otherwise covered in your contract.

It IS covered under the Koran Labor Laws. There is an exception under Article 61, but most employers don't follow the requirements of the exception.

Back pay is payable up to 3 years. I'd say sue right around the time you go decide to go home.
