He is not a bad guy, but he is not a great guy by any means.
He is one of those people that likes to push the rules. See how far he can get away with things till someone tells him that what he is doing is not cool. But even then, he is kind of a lying sleaze bag that will not man up to it. He thinks everyone likes him (which is not the case), hence his laissez faire attitude with his mouth.
For example, he has no problem talking junk about women in the shared office, be it in how they are incapable of doing certain things, or make rude comments about how he would bang a mutual friends gf or wife or how he would bang that student if given the chance (we are at a uni gig). Pretty much zero filter when the lads are around.
He never follows the dress code and pretty much is a slob. In fact, I would call him one of the more disgusting people, in terms of cleanliness, that I know.
He is a continuous know-it-all and has no problem letting everyone know it.
I heard from three different people that he had sexual relations with a student a few years ago, but could never prove it of course. But he is known for having a big mouth and the fact that I heard this from three different people on separate occasions makes me think it is true.
I can't say that I care about what he does, though I don't want to get painted with the same brush as him. I think it is a matter of time before his world comes crashing down around him. As we all know, the locals have no problem seeing all waygooks as the same. I really like my job, but I have a good feeling that this guy could really screw it up for a lot of people, myself included.
Anyone like this in your work place? Did you deal with it? If so, how? If not, what would you do? Take any actions, or just let it play out?

I'm not keen on documentaries, but this one has something. By the way, if somebody in your workplace sucks, then just show how good you are. Even Koreans can differentiate between foreigners. |
