Hey guys!

I just got an email from my recruiter and I got the visa number Laughing Laughing Laughing

This means they accepted my graduate diploma with a letter accompanying it as equivalent to a bachelor's degree Laughing Laughing

Now I have to go to the embassy in London. Think I might post it but then again I don't trust passports in the post.

See y'all in Korea for a pint. Cool

Congratulations!

Everything will be fine.

Happy travels Very Happy

Yes, you pay for your own visa. Once you get to Korea, you'll have a medical (which your school may or may not pay for), then once you get your results, you'll go to immigration for your ARC, (again, your school may or may not pay for this) which is your multiple entry visa.

No idea how much the medical and ARC cost, as my school paid for everything, even though my contract said I was to pay for it.

I sent my passport for the 2nd time to London yesterday and I phoned them up to see if they've received everything they want this time. He said, why didn't I include all of the visa application form so I said it's because it says if you have a VIN then you only need to fill in parts 1,2 and 12. He said yes but we still need all of the rest of the questions. Anyway, he said he will process it this time but if I apply for another visa in future please include all the questions.

Phew! What a relief. I though for a few seconds they were going to send it back again. They also didn't state in their letter I needed to include the rest of the questions. They just said it's 138 quid and to include the E2 check list so that's what I did.

I asked them in a little letter if they can process it before next Friday as my employer would like me to fly out on 14th if possible. Laughing Laughing Laughing

I just found out that special delivery won't deliver on Saturday unless you pay for it. I already said that when I posted my passport off at the post office should I get Saturday service but she said she wouldn't worry about it. Now they tell me my passport will be Sent on Friday if they received it last Friday so if they post it on Friday it won't get to mine until the blooming Monday. So now I might have to go down to London Friday and pick it up cos the employer is asking when I can go to Korea. This is all the post office's fault as I said can I have Saturday delivery at first. I also emailed the embassy earlier to ask if they could possibly send my passport back on Thursday instead of Friday but they haven't written back. When I asked on the phone if I could get it back before Friday she said I'm afraid not.

Does not sound like she is.

You should have called.

Next time, OP, plan ahead and gather more information on these matters. And...CALL the embassy.

The fact that there are no services offering expedited visas makes me think it is highly unlikely that the embassy will process your visa any faster than the 5 days it usually takes. Usually if there is any way to speed up a service such as this, someone somewhere is making a nice profit from it.

If you are going to go to London to pick up the visa, make sure you call them before to tell them not to post it - the last thing you want is to arrive in London only to find they've already posted it.

I don't look at coaches very often but I checked out National Express to London from where I am and it's £10 one way to London Victoria. cheap man! The train is about £25 one way I think off peak. It takes alittle longer like 2.5 hours as opposed to 1.5 hours for the train but Victoria coach station is dead near the Korean embassy. I think you can even walk there in 15 mins.

So that's what I'm planning on doing and then I am supposed to be flying out of London Friday evening. There's direct flights from London, Asiana and Korean air I think.

You know what would be funny? Funny would be you getting to London and then find out that you cannot change how the passport with visa is delivered to you. Call the embassy or consulate and find out if they will--or even if they can--slide your stuff from one processing channel to another.

Another poster pointed this out to you: you're putting the cart before the horse. He said that in another thread you started about a different issue, but he pegged you with that comment.

hey I have great news for everyone. I called the embassy and they are issuing me an E2 visa on Friday. So I can pick it up between 10 and 12 on Friday and then I a flying to Seoul in the afternoon.

So it is possible to get an E2 visa with a UK 4year graduate diploma, although I sent a letter saying it is equivalent to a bachelor's degree. I know most people nowadays have BAs and Bsc but 29 years ago they still did these diplomas. I think now it's been replaced with the BMus. So this thread doesn't concern probably 90% of people with BAs but for those with equivalent qualifications, you can get into Korea. Yipee!

See you all in Korea for a pint Laughing Laughing Laughing
