I'd say it depends on how much and whether or not have to or need to exchange it.
The won has been on a rollercoaster, having dipped below the 1,100 mark a couple of times quite recently. Strengthened up a bit today as well, and we're in the 1,112 ballpark last I checked (from just over 1,120 yesterday).
If you're only changing a grand or so or less, then 10-20 won difference might not be a bad hedge and you could exchange now in the 1,110-1,120 ballpark. That's still a couple of hundred won stronger than earlier this year when it broke 1,200.
If you don't have to exchange, and if you can ride out the rollercoaster ride hoping for further strengthening, then you could hope for it to dip back down under 1,100 and then go for it. This might be better longer term, especially if you're exchanging larger amounts of 50K+.
Depends on appetite for risk and necessity to exchange. But anywhere near 1,100 has been a pretty safe zone the past few years. Your call. |

Been watching the roller coaster? 120 yesterday, 102 today. Rinse and repeat. Would love to now see the won break the 1,100 barrier. |

Dipped below 1,100, now at 1,114. Here we go again! |
