Or, you can just remember that, like every other career every other person has pursued to their own satisfaction and success, you can do what you love and the money you make will be enough. I'd rather see the profession down to 100 native English teachers in Korea doing it because they're committed to it (which is actually a good earning strategy) than 10,000 of them stalking the cash with their fee-paying space-occupying students in tow (a good job-changing strategy). |

I worked at Wall Street (WSI back then) years ago and remember the CEO quite well. He would show up at our nights out witht he group and seemed like a pretty nice guy. I gather he was from a wealthy family and was given the WSE job. That is too bad that he chose to end his life.
WSI was a good gig though. I took the part time option and any extra corporates I could while getting permission to work at a second adult hagwon putting my contact hours between 40-50 a week. I socked away a lot of cash and some of the female students were smoking hot. The only thing was I burned out after 2 years of doing it but saved enough for grad school and to make the transition back home. Never could teach kids so that limited my options and I'm glad WSI was there.
That really sucks that they're doing splits, as it was a great option for people who didn't want anything to do with snot nosed kids. Now A lot of guys I knew were quite comfortable with their block shifts because it freed them up to do other things during the day / evenings. Now it's just another YBM or Pagoda. Nothing good lasts forever I guess. |
