Sorry, change from OP to new subject. Newbie with too many questions.
I am a certified elementary school teacher with a TESOL certification who would work on an F4 visa in Korea. Don't have experience teaching in Korea and only a half year's worth in New Zealand. Bilingual but don't know if that is working for me or against me right now through this job hunt.
What is the standard pay rate I should be looking at or expecting to be offered?
Appreciate any comments thanks.

I'm a newly certified teacher in NZ and looking to go over to Korea to teach english. Don't have exp in Korea and not a lot in NZ either (just an afterschool programme and teaching placement experience).
So, I've been talking to the owner of an english kindergarten in Incheon and he has offered me 180 mil per month for working hours of 8.15 - 6.15pm 5days a week. He emphasises absolutely no extra work.
It's a small kindergarten with only 6-8 children in each class with one foreign & one Korean co-teacher.
From 9am til 3pm runs a fully functioning kindy with 20-30 minute classes and from 3pm-6pm elementary school students come for an afterschool programme (1.5hrs each).
It's either that or I take the job at a bigger hagwon like POLY (9-6pm) or Jungsang (1-9:30pm on 260mil/month).
Just to add, I am only considering the first option as it is literally a couple minutes drive from my family home but don't want to take it if it is extremely low pay or outrageously high working hours.
Appreciate any comments thanks. |
What a crying shame.
Yeah..."no extra work". If you beleive that, I can sell you some beach front property in Daegu.
O.P....don't take that offer.
Just...don't...do it. |

yeah extremely low pay and ridiculously long hours. Don't know why I was even considering. Not many options for a gyopo though aiming for an april start date. |

Just use a bunch of recruiters. You should be able to find a 30 hour a week job for 2.2-2.5 million (NOT 220 million lol) a month. |
