Hey all,
I have a DVD player which I want to take home to Canada when I go.
Korea's 220V, 60Hz, and Canada's 110-120V, 60Hz, but the DVD player says on the back that it's 110-240 V, 60 Hz.
So, I'm assuming it's cool with just a plug shape adaptor, and not a voltage adaptor. Seems straightforward, but I don't want to get it home and have it burn on me. I brought a discman from Canada here with me, and it melted, even though the adaptor was within the limits.
Anybody have experience with this? |

| The DVD player shouldn't burn on you, since you are transferring to a lower voltage. It is just stuff from home that will get wrecked here because its not built for the 220V. If it says 110 on the back then it should work with just a plug adaptor, without having to boost the voltage. |

You should be fine. I bring stuff back and forth with that rating all the time with no problem. As far as your old CD player adaptor goes, if the adaptor had the same 110-240v rating, that shouldn't have happened. If it blew it was defective. |

I bought a digital alarm clock in Korea and took it home. Unfortunately it ran slowly and never kept correct time in Australia. I think, although the voltage is similar in Korea and in Australia, the cycles are different.
I also have an electric razor which I bought in Australia but it won't work here in Korea. Possibly the problem is the same. |
