OK, so I am not the most technologically gifted and would like to make creating a website as easy and painless as possible. I had a try with Geocities, where you could literally draw text and picture boxes, kind of a plug and play approach, but they are too damn slow and even for me, trying to find a way to edit my page is frustrating me.
So does anyone here know of any really simple web page making sites for boneheads like me, other than Geocities? I'm not much for HTML. Embarassed
Am beginning to offer to give anyone who wants to do the damn site for me a free dinner. Razz

OK....I made a brief mention of it earlier. I want to just make a smallish website for my second year students to show off the recipes they all came up with.

Would blogspot work with that? Embarassed

katy:

I've been using an angelfire page for years. I've found it pretty user friendly. I've never tried geocities, so I don't know how it compares, but it's an option.

I'm a web developer back in the real world, and for free food I can help. I was actually thinking of making a few web pages that will help me with my paperwork that I have to do at my school, so an extra page or so of HTML aught to be no big deal. Throw in a beer or two and I'll even give you a little "template" that you can use.

I'll do you one better.

Go to my webpage, click on the "view source" button in your browser (usually it can be found in the "View" menu), copy and paste it to notepad. Remove all of the junk you dont need, and call it your own.

Willie, both you and I know that as soon as non-techy people look at the source and see all those tags they freak out and go to geocities.

True, true.

I was the same way once. Now I can play HTML like I was Hendrix at Woodstock.
