M2 is by far the most decent club i've been to in seoul yet.

WOW. you need to get out more often..
it is not the most decent club in town.. its good for what it is..
looks just like a sickboyz rave layout. with bad traffic design.. its a rave interior..

Have you seen the acts that are booked to play M2 over the next few weeks?

I'm not hating on M2, I'm talking about the design, not the acts that are booked. I haven't even looked, I'm sure they are good. Lime Lite plays terrible music, but it's a well designed club. M2 looks like it's going to bring in good music, but it's poorly designed. Thems just facts. I'll still go if there is something I want to see.

if you're flying over from Seoul maybe a bunch of us could go together?

Man. Having spent my C64 days in Windsor, I used to hang out with Richie Hawtin. This was long before he was a famous DJ type guy. He was one of Windsor's sources of better hacked C64 software. I was once a cosysop on his Star Trek themed BBS.

hey, i haven't been everywhere, if you have suggestions other than places in itaewon, i'd be glad to hear them. most of the places i've been are in hongdae and are small with crappy dance floors.

I totally agree... about the bad dance floor clubs in hongdae,.
well there are a few mega scale clubs in town..
if you want to visit korean nightclubs.. you will see some HUGE million dollar ventures.. Apkujeong and kangnam have some mega scale clubs.
of course you are looking at 250.000 for a table.. so bring some friends..
and other venues for cheap entrance and normal bar styles..
there are a few around..

I like "Hooper", it's small, but it's like a bar with a good but small dance floor, as opposed to a "club", and they sometimes play some groovy underground house, but it's hit and miss, also mostly koreans on the floor so the vibe is more relaxed, no jocks hogging space and macking every chick in sight ...

i've been pretty impressed with the caliber of techno djs who have been coming through seoul (marco carola christain smith, etc...). all of whom have played in small clubs for very little money (compared to the 30-50$ they would be in canada).

too bad the good ones come thru seoul at the frequency of twice or three times a year Sad im really really surprised that hawtin is playing almost everywhere in the next three months except seoul. like how can he play in moscow and istanbul and not seoul?!

Well I think Hawtin was in Seoul last December or so... so maybe twice in six months is too much for him!
