Does this hairstyle seem unprofessional to you? I am aware that there are few blacks living/working in Korea, so I wanted to know what you think the reaction would be to this braided hairstyle.
I will be coming to Korea in August and I would prefer to braid my hair but if it is deemed unprofessional, then I guess I won't. I haven't talked to the owner of the school about this yet, so nothing is set in stone about it but your opinion would be appreciated.

No I like it. Its cool. I don't think they will care about your hair.
I know this one girl and she's white and she has extensions and braids.
No problem. |

Hagwons aren't ultra professional places anyway, I wouldn't worry too much. It's only if you teach adults or work outside the hagwon game that you have to consider things like that. |

By the way, I had heard from a friend that extensions have caught on in Korea. Is this true? I would love it if a Korean tried to work with my hair...I would pay for the experience |

DAMN! That's a lot of money! No way would I pay that much for my hair to be braided unless it was braided with strands of gold or something!
My plan was to get these micro braids that last for about 6 months, by then I will go home to visit. I can get them redone at home and then just keep them in till it's time to go home. I definitely going to try this plan after hearing that price....DAMN! |

Thanks for the info, Crois.
It's facinating to me how braids are popular in a lot of different places throughout the World. But then again, when I was in Korea, I did see Koreans with afros WAY bigger than mine. I guess when there is a will, there is a way.... |
