the very first thing i bought in korea (i mean, the very first thing) was a box of frosted flakes or whatever the korean version of it was and it had a plastic back massager thingy attached to it. i freaked the funk out though because it seriously looked like a sex toy...it was quite fallic and had little nubbins on it (textured for your pleasure!). this was after walking to the store and seeing the street littered with the little baseball-like trading cards of local prostitutes with their fake breasts and scantily-clad bodies. i came to korea thinking that it was a pretty sexually conservative society (which it is, i found on further inspection) and was shocked that in the first few hours i was seeing pornography littering the streets and di1dos attached to cereal boxes. hee hee!

I love it when they give you free peanuts with your beer.

That's dinner done. And that's the beer.

scored me a burger king phone after buying 10 woopers in two weeks. havent had a wooper since! the phone was pretty useless, but it worked and when drunk people tended to reach for it to drink from as it looked like a can of "something"!

There was this dollar store on my way home from the subway. I used to stop in almost every day when I first moved it to load up my apartment with all the things I needed, from dish towels to soap. They started to notice the daily white guy visit, dropping 10,000 - 20,000 won a day. One day they gave me, free, two 3 kg bags of laundry detergent. 6 kg (about 13 lbs) of laundry detergent. Ho dad! That's at least half a year's supply.
