Yea, everybody knows about the Hongdae dance trance clubs. While I don't mind going there when I'm flying solo for the night, it's not exactly my idea of a place to go dancing with your jazz dance studying better half.

Dancing is actually the thing that the Chica and I hit it off on. Despite the fact that Stompers is a dingy rustbucket of a club with a whole lot of the soldier fellows (I don't mind them, but I can't relate all the same), they did play a wide variety of music that ranged from Aussie rock to romantic to whatever. They really allowed you a lot of room to bust a groove in several ways, instead of just trancing out all night long. Not to mention that they actually have a dance floor, unlike most other bars.

But alas, Stompers otherwise wasn't all that great.

What I want to know is...can anyone recommend a place that offers a wide array of tunes and has a dance floor? South of the river would be ideal, but if it's way up in Shinchon or Hongdae or something, I could roll with it.

Any suggestions?

Sure, you know the Hamilton Hotel right? Opposite side of the main road, along a bit moving away from Geckos bar, there is a bar called Nashville which I'm sure you know of. It's upstairs from Nashville on the top (maybe 4th?) floor. Latin dancing club, sometimes they got a live band of musicians from central america. It's fun to go there, and there is seldom any trouble.
