I got it. I had to reinstall one pc(I have two). It came in an email. PC-cillin (mine) and Norton couldn't dele it. My link to cexx.org had a thread which apparently results in a clean pc but I can reinstall so I did because it's faster and more sure. I knew I had it because I had spyguard, spyblaster and the latest version of spybot. I guess that's my point. Keep you anti-spyware, anti-virus and cleaning software up to date. I've only had two infections in 4 years and both were vicious and new. I discovered them within minutes because of up to date software. Read about this nasty bug at the BBC technology link or your local paper. It's front page news all over the world.
I am using Firefox internet surfing software which is the latest mozilla open source apparently until ... forever? or at least until ms figures out how to patch IE. Is that funny? Firefox looks better and loads faster than IE. I may never go back. |

Yep...I've been talking about how vulnerable IE is for years. Funny thing...I have never used any ad removing software, and never had a crippling virus, hijack, trojan or web bug with Mozilla.
Never download from an unknown source, don't open e-mail attatchments from the unknown...I just use an anti-virus that only caught viruses on Kazaa, but never a web-related problem. Also, I often surf with Java disabled and via a proxy.
Anyways, Firefox rox! Don't go back...IE just opens up your whole system to the net. No wonder MS needs to patch it every week...it's got it's tentacles around every stitch of code in Windows. |
