That's funny!

There is a "black market" store located in Itaewon. Go down the road next to Burger King (not the main Itaewon road). You will find the store about 200-300 yards down the road. Be careful though. It doesn't have a sign. The frame around the window is painted red.

NO need to go that far... That supermarket in Itaweon across from Burger King (underneath Geckos) used to sell maple syrup back when I shopped there regularly (about a year and a half ago). Try there first!

But be ready, it's pricey...

I'm always able to find pancake mix and syrup at the mom and pop shops.

My favorite food on Saturday mornings.

There are two types of maple syrup, as anyone who lives near sugar woods knows.

There is the touristy export crap, and then the real stuff.

I doubt you can find the real stuff easily.

You could try here.

You could probably find smaller more delicious places.

I found some good imported stuff at Hannam market. Pricey...I think it was about 15,000 won for 1/2 a liter.

Better idea is find someone coming in from Canada and ask them to pack you a 1.5 liter jug for 8$.
