i caught information about this on the news last night, but i missed if it's just for subway or both subway or bus. anyone know? btw, it's going to be 32,500 won a month. good deal if you ask me taking into account the new price hike. i take the subway a million times a day running around to see all of my students. |

It's only for the subway:

Responding to a crescendo of criticism over the new bus system completely overhauling the road transportation structure, Lee said at a news briefing the city would sell a monthly season ticket for subways at 35,200 won, without any restrictions on its use. The ticket would not be usable on buses. |

That's a pretty sweet fair. I spend at least 1,600 won a day on subway (more on weekends). That's minimum 48,000 won a month. I never take the bus. I'd buy that card for sure.
Toronto's monthly unlimited pass is edging close to $100 a month. It's gotten so expensive some people are moving closer to work (eg moving downtown) simply to shave $100 off their monthly cash outlay. Used to be people were simply moving closer to the subway to ditch their cars. Now the subway is getting so expensive they're ditching transit for their feet.
In an unrelated note, anyone notice most of the route stickers on the new signs have been torn off in some areas? They seem to have gone with a very cheap sticker and I've seen bored high school kids tearing the stickers off. Someone wasn't thinking when they decided to save a couple won... |

Not bad. . . . except that the Carte Orange (the all-you can ride ticket of Paris Metro/Bus system) first appeared in 1975. |

And as the city did not make an agreement over the prepaid card system with the Korean National Railroad (KNR), who operates some sections of Seoul's subway lines, citizens cannot use the card on sections run by KNR. |
