Screaming like a retard in a resteraunt-

getting drunk and beating up bus drivers

sitting on the subway with my legs spread like i was protecting 2 faberge egg's

getting drunk in front of 7-11 and harassing the patrons as they enter/exit

Boys getting drunk and screaming and crying as their friends hug and console him

Kicking animals that stray too near

totally ignoring the police and the law... the list is long...

I've pretty much stopped paying attention to their idiosyncracies. I've reached the point where I almost accept them...except for one:
There are always some guy who feel the need to blast korean pop at the carwash (always twenty-something guys in pimped up avantes or minvans) while wiping down their cars. Makes me want to get some Rammstein CDs to drown them out. I wonder if they'd complain.

I think this thread started off by flutieflakes as lighthearted expressions of valid critical observations.

Here's my two bits:

Things Korean men do that I'd be punished for back home...

1 - popping their head into their buddy's apartment window at nine o'clock on Sunday morning and wondering if an unplanned day trip was possible.

2 - cutting ahead of others in line at the store to buy smokes.

here are a couple of things that have happened to me and really ticked me off.

Being given a gift and being asked to pay for it Confused Shocked An older Korean man who works security tracked me down at the hogwan, presented me with a nice caligraphy wall hanging with both English and Korean that he had done himself and presenting me with a bill for 5000 won for material cost. I paid it but was kind of shocked.

Getting my Johnson grabbed and pulled at a spa Shocked Shocked Mad Shocked by an old man who giggled like a middle school girl. Happened twice at two different spas by two different Koreans.

Pretty much any Korean behind the wheel of a vehicle.

The cops total lack of responsibility or duty.

The list goes on.

Hey Corp......every now and then you feel the need to do a little Korean bashing so LIGHTEN UP Exclamation

This post read my mind. The confusing thing is how, in spite of all the feminine habits listed above, Korean men still think they can still cling to their outdated male chauvinist attitude. We're living in some kind of twilight zone where pink pants and feathered hair does wonders for your testicular fortitude. Three words to sum up Korean dudes: GAY AS HELL.

While I have my beefs with Korean men, this post is ignorant beyond belief. You're the type that gives us "serious whiners" a bad name ...

I may be a new MOD but I'm quite verse on the meaning of Dave Sperling's guidelines for material in posts: Posts are NOT to be: "...abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening"

(This thread seems borderline and will be reviewed by the MODs.)

State your points in a considerate manner toward individuals and groups without namecalling or overgeneralized denigrations of them.

Spitting in ashtrays would almost certainly draw a reaction back home.

On the other hand, I enjoy the lack of macho posturing.

One of my Korean friends told me got the look of death from several people when he did that in an Ottawa bar. He didn't realize that it was a bad thing until he saw the reactions on their faces.

Oh, but you just haven't lived until you've watched & heard some guy (see -- it's a guy thing, girls) very near your table do this mid-meal in a restaurant. Big-time Shocked & awe, let me tell you. Especially since we all know what a grave sin it is to blow one's nose at the table, right?

Lest the MODs or self-appointed arbiters of cyber correctness want to whisk me away in the DaveSperling Paddywagon for violating the "thou shallt not overgeneralise" commandment (which, were it ever actively enforced, would render this the "Where Can I Buy Fitted Sheets?" forum), I will state categorically, that THIS IS NOT TYPICAL MALE KOREAN BEHAVIOUR. (No, it just happens so often that I'm no longer surprised, but again) THIS IS NOT TYPICAL MALE KOREAN BEHAVIOUR!

Well-mannered Koreans also dislike that kind of behavior.
