I'm curious what kind of nifty gadgets everyone out there has and how much use you get out of them in day to day life.

I'll start, though the list isn't all that long.

Canon A40 digital camera. Only 2 megapixels and it's now 2 years old, but it's served me pretty well, and overall has been an excellent purchase.

Cowon 256 MB MP3 player. Not sure about the model name, but I've been getting a lot of use out of this baby. The only complaint about this is that the FM reception is fairly weak, but then, I didn't buy it to listen to the radio.

Archos Multimedia Jukebox 20. Handy little device that I don't use often enough. It plays videos (albeit on a tiny screen,) MP3's and you can also display photo's on it. It also has video outputs so you can output the video to a TV. Also comes with a multiformat card reader, so you can upload your digital photos to it while away from the PC. Caveats, low battery life, small screen. I don't use this device often enough, and it's a bit bulky to use as an everyday MP3 player.

19 inch LCD from Planar. I'd never heard of this brand before, but it reviewed well and was priced right. Also has DVI capability, which I had no knowledge about whatsoever when I bought it. Forgunately my video card also had DVI outputs on hit. Anyway, I can haul it on a carry-on bag pretty easily, which is the main reason I got it.

Ok, that's my list in a nutshell. Anyone else have any cool toys?

256MB MP3 Player. Unitech.

Roland midi controller keyboard and SC-88 Midi sound generator.

Canon S30 Powershot 3.2 Megapixel camera.

Panasonic miniDV camcorder. (can't remember the model..at work now)

Samsung Sens P3 800 Laptop. Old.

21" Samsung with a rockin' system behind it. Razz

Wife's 32-bit RDRAM P4 2.0 system...my old one.

USB 2.0 external hard drive casing.

I guess that's it.....

Edit: forgot my silly cell phone...KTF....

My two favorite gadgets are my MD player and digital camera.

It has a few faults (build quality not great) but this Sony MZ-N1 takes care of my portable and home music needs. Great quality sound.

I got this camera just a few months ago and despite it not being from a 'real' camera maker I've really enjoyed using it and got some surprisingly good results.

Gadgets rule!!! I'll buy anything.

I'm holding out for the release of Sony's MP3 player this summer before I decide between the iPod, the Sony, or the iRiver.

I'll write more later but one gadget I miss having is a USB memory Key. I'm writing up Quizes for all of the Let's Go books units. I'm doing them on my home computer and then burning them onto disk and then taking them to the work computer. IT would be easier If I still had my memory key. Crying or Very sad

Instead of a memory key why not buy a memory card (SD, Compact Flash, whatever's cheapest) and card reader?

The sony "MP3" player, won't play MP3's, just sony's own special brand of compressed file- which I would assume will have licensing issues all over the place. You can definitely forget about downloading stuff from Soulseek or whatever to play on it.

Over here my gadgets are a
Canon A75 digital camera,
a Casio EX2 something digital camera which is tiny but doesn't take great pics,
an iRiver H140 which I love, especially with my quality Sony in-ear head phones,
and that card that you just have to wave near the subway turnstile to pay your fee- that thing rocks.

I'm pretty out of the loop when it comes to electronics. Only thing I have are:

Samsung 21" TV
LG VCR - great for recording AFN prime time shows and late night sports.
Panasonic CD Player with AM/FM Tuner - 2 years old.

Had a Canon A80 4.0 digicam that I sold.

Want to purchase:
Laptop computer with mobile technology and CDR writer.
IRiver or comparable MP3 player or a jukebox with as much storage for pics, MP3 playback, movies, sound bytes, etc.
Another Canon A80
Palm Pilot - for language dictionary modules and other fancy stuff.

Am I the only one who doesn't have a handphone currently?

I don't have a mobile phone. I wanted to save money in my first year, and I made sure of that. But if I come back for round 2 I want to spoil myself. I can see the benefits of being mobile now.

Forgot to mention my Gameboy Advance SP. Great little time waster especially with all the pirate game packs that come bundled with 3 or 4 Gameboy Advance games plus another 100+ classic games (of which about 10-15 are usually decent.)

I'm currently considering getting a laptop in about 6-7 months, though I won't actually NEED one. I'm looking at getting something like this Mayhem G3
