|
|
I have searched and read many past posts on Dave's about FT Union, both good and bad. I want to know if anyone has recently in the last 6-12 months had any job-related problems with FT Union or specifically Stephanie Kim? Positive comments and honesty are welcomed and encouraged.
Thanks!
....just trying to clear up some of the fog.
PM if necessary. |

Stephanie is a great gal. Not the most organised woman in the world that's true, but she is the closest thing to an honest recruiter I've come across here in Korea. She has gone out of her way to help me in the past and I'd heartily recommend her if you're looking for a job in the Bucheon/Incheon area.
Talk to Gord if you want more info as he has done a lot of work with her. |

Hi Jack the cat-- I have been dealing with Stephanie for a bit now and so have several friends. I think she is great, and my friends agree. I have not started my contract yet...so maybe something will change (knock on wood!). I think she is very helpful and kind. I have also found that she goes out of her way. But what I don't understand is why I have read a couple of bad posts about her and the company? Mind you the posts were from primarily 2002-03, but still. I also have read so many emails defending the company and her. I wonder if some of the negative people are the types of people who never take responsibility for their own actions? Maybe they are the ones who have blamed her or the company for their own mishaps? Probably true in some cases, no doubt. Also, maybe these "teachers" that FT Union helped turned out to be fools?
What do you think?
I really can't tell you. I have no idea but I wanted to hear some feedback from others who have dealth with her and the company.
I guess I will never know the truth, I can only form my own judgement from my experiences with her. |

My guess is the teachers' jobs went sour or they messed up at their school and are blaming the recruiter.
FT Union went out of their way to help me when my last school went to shit and the set me up with a decent new gig (10 months ago).
They're all great people and I'd take another job from them in a second. Anyone with whom I talk from now on who shows an interest in teaching in Korea will get FT Union's recommendation from me.
I may be down on Korea but FT Union is a great company and from my experience take excellent care of their recruits. |

I think that, as far as they go, they lean towards the "better" end of the spectrum. Meaning they call you back and are fun to talk to *laugh*. But seriously, I'd say they're pretty decent.
Great Wall worked with them last year, and I think he was happy with them, but maybe not the place of work (I think he said the job was just boring). |
