Don't sweat it. Half the fun of travelling to new countries is trying new foods. Check this thread (http://www.eslcafe.com/forums/korea/viewtopic.php?t=6005&highlight=Korean+food+list), especially the posts where Thomas and I recommend and describe our favorite Korean foods. Should help you out when you're first trying new foods. The food names are also romanized and in Korean script.

If you can, try to learn how to read Korean script before you come here. That will make it much easier to find the foods you like after you have them the first time, as well as making your life easier in a lot of other ways.

My first few months I just looked up things on the menu in a dictionary and gambled (hmmm..... beef something... let's do it!) and wrote down the things I liked so I could find them later.

Bon appetit!

Only McDonald's, Burger King, Lotteria, and KFC are safe here.. (Lotteria is the safest) and the water is contaminated to high heaven...

therefore eat ONLY from the following four restaurants while drinking coke. If you eat or drink anything else you are playing Russian Roulette with your life.

I also heard taking a long nap after each meal helps reduce the threat of food poisoning..

Geezzz....I hope that is sarcasm.

So you're telling me you only eat fast food.

Good luck to your health, I'll take the more dodgy food option.
