| I'm pretty sure Lyrt was just making a point- hence that bit at the end about always finding someone more snobbish than you. |

| So why did you start the thread? |
Just thought it was funny that so many Koreans seemed musically retarded. And while most of that is based on my limited experience, I know I'm not the only one. This one dude who I work with who is a complete music freak and spends his time talking to Koreans about music says that most of them (the Koreans who know music) laugh at the music scene here.
| yangtheman wrote: |
| Because so many people (I want to know how many Koreans you know to see what the sampling rate was) don't "recognize" or "appreciate" your favorite songs or artists (which is very subjective), you are assuming majority of Koreans does not know jack about "the true geniuss of music." |
Again, I don't care if they like it or not. I don't particularly like Wagner, Liszt, or Tchaickovsky but I recognize their genius.
| yangtheman wrote: |
| How do you suppose Koreans should have been exposed to the true geniuss of music before the 90s? Did you live here then? Do you understand how things were in Korea, then? How typical! You think other countries must be all American colonies? All the countries that don't share the same values or don't have the same stuff as America must be 3rd-world countries! PUUUUUULLLEEEAAASSEEEE! No wonder Americans are preceived as "stupid" and "arrogant" by so many other developed countries. |
The fact that Koreas modern culture is a complete ripoff of America makes me think that they should know (by the way, I am not a Yank, nor do I ever desire to be one)
I don't think all countries are American colonies, just Korea. Let's face it, America says "jump", Korea asks "how high?"
| yangtheman wrote: |
| Try to understand the history and culture of other countries before spewing your mindless thoughts. It actually goes to many of you here. |
I've looked in to it, despite what people say, Korean history and culture is not that big of a mystery.

Haha. does it seem like I really care that much. Unlike some I don't take these things too serious, everyone needs to relax a little. |

| LMG, as much as I'd like to stick your head in my fridge and mount you from behind I have disagree with your musical comments. |
now u scare me... i go make this face now cuz...yeah... ---> ;_;
why a fridge? again--> ;_;
we have a/c at the dorm...
uhmm... yeah...
-------
anyways, like i said, different tastes.
i like tapping my hand to cho pd's 'chingu' song...i like hearing that 'pari e yeonin' song on the streets, i like g-unit's 'stunt 101'...
there is a thing called the 'mp3 player' that is pretty big in korea.
i have mine, do you have yours?
besides that, most the ppl i know really are not stopping on the street to say "well, these beats here are influenced by african and latin american beats; which found their way to america through blah blah..."
if i feel like busting out a classical music cd then i'll do that.
if i don't like something, i just don't listen to it... o_o |

Why a fridge? Isn't that obvious?
During coitus you can hand the sandwich fixings to me and I, using your back as table, can make sandwiches thereby saving time. |
