|
|
I know a grandmother-lady in Itaewon who owns some property and wants to open something that will make money (she owns an area above Discovery -- next to Manhattan restaurant). I'd call it a small-sized area similar in size to the Subway restaurant. Not sure how serious she is, but she is definately curious about what would be popular. Maybe not too terribly expensive.
I'm trying to tell her to open up a Taco restaurant. Something Mexican fast-food.
Do you guys have any other ideas I can pass on to her? What would you like to see? |

I can't mention my proper idea, because it's mine, but a good, proper Mexican place would be nice. Hosting burrito parties is hard. |

Jamaican food!
But I'm biased
But honestly, it might attract some of the troops because quite a few are of Caribbean heritage...But it's just an idea.... |

Yeah, Jamaican would be good. I made sure I brought my jerk spices when I flew up because I knew I'd want some Jamaican as some point. Also, is there anything close to a soul food restaurant there?
I come from a restaurant family/background, and I'd love to help with ideas or solutions.
I also like the idea of fast food Mexican. I miss a good Big Ass Burrito. Well, even though I just finished off a homemade fish taco for lunch. My hunch is that a Big Ass Burrito joint would make the most money in Itaewon, considering the space.
Or here's an original idea -- KIMBAP!! |

I'm liking the Jamaican/Mexican restaurant myself. Jamaican patties and some good Mexican food, that's like a mirage in a dream, to me, here!! |

As soon as i marry a foxy K girl i'm ditching teaching and opening a turkish kebab style joint, preferably in itaewon and preferably on the main drag. Initially i would imagine it to be quite a slog....long hours and all, but potential is HUGE! |

Philly cheese steak sandwiches, BUT (and I stress) teach her how to make them and make her stick to the recipe because Koreans of a nasty habit of assuming that swiss cheese is the same as processed cheese, that coffee spoons are teaspoons, etc. |

Either a Sonny's Bar-B-Q (a good, authentic bar-b-q restaurant would do well, I think) or a Taco Bell.
