I have a Compaq and it's great, and cheap too at Yongsan.
Stay away from Celeron's, the difference in price is just not worth it.
My Compaq is a Centrino (also called Pentium M) and i must say i really like it. Performance is midway between good and excellent. it's very quiet, and my laptop is very thin, and very light because of it....great combination.
If you buy a big heavy laptop, why not just get a desktop anyway, because you will be dreading carrying it around anywhere....
i think if you are a gamer, or a serious multi-tasker, then get a P4, (or it's equivalent AMD) but a Centrino can handle most everything, though it's slow when I try basic video editing, but I should have got an Apple if I really wanted to do that, eh? |

According to Best Buy's website, they offer two options. On-site repair if they have an authorized repair agency in the area who can come to your house (US only), or you have to bring the unit to a drop-off facility.
It says nothing about how they will attempt to find someone to repair it if you do not fall under those two options. |
Did he claim someone would come on-site to repair it?
No. |

That's lovely.
The point being that the warranty information clearly says that it has to be brought to one of their service centers or have an on-site service if they are in a covered area.
Which brings us to the problem: Best Buy has no service centers in Korea. If he can't get on-site service, then he will have to pay for the unit to be shipped to North America and then back to Korea after it has been repaired. At least according to Best Buys website. |

They locate a service provider in South Korea for you and I suppose pay the bill (I've never had to go through such a process before so I'm not sure how it works exactly). I bought a special extended warranty that is perhaps different from whichever one you saw on the website, I don't know i've never looked at it before. |
