I think it is the funniest thing... the Korean Lotte mart as well as the little marts on the corner have about 50 different kinds of ice cream! I love ice cream so I feel in heaven, though my butt size might pay Smile The strangest one I had today... It was a frudge bar with vanilla (or white) in the middle. The stick was a plastic tube with chocolate poprocks! YAY!

if only I could send this stuff home to my family and friends Question

What is the thinking behind all this ice cream? does it somehow have to do with video games? hrmmmmmmmmm

i scream
you scream
we all scream
for ice cream!

I'll give Koreans one thing: they know their junkfood. Some cool (and downright strange) stuff here.

The thing that fascinates me while I'm sitting at one of my favorite watering holes is the place across the street that serves 14 cm soft serve cones. A good many of them end up on the ground, and then it's fun to see who steps in the ice cream.

As you know, I'm easily entertained.

Check out Baskin Robbins twin berry cheese cake. Damn it's good, so good in fact that the other day the ice cream jockey didnt scoop it on right and after one licking the ball of icecream fell off onto the street, i'm ashamed to admit i plopped it right back on there, dusted it off and hooked back into it!

Favorites include.
Tank Boy
Jaws Bar
Choco Choc
Ok Dong Jah

And a few others that I can't remember.

I remember how much similar ice creams are in Australia which makes me buy even more Very Happy

I make these iced cafe lattes at home:

1 scoop vanilla Haagen Dazs
1/2 cup extra, extra strong brewed coffee with 2 tablespoons brown sugar dissolved in it and cooled
1/2 cup milk
6 ice cubes

Put it all in the blender and blend until the ice is crushed...big straw...yum!

mmm yum! Smile

after to much testing of the different ice creams i say that the googoo cherry cluster wins my vote for best korean ice cream. Though for service the guy downstairs in his little ice cream parlor who so thoughtfully picks out which ice cubes to put in my shake wins in my book.. nice guy

i have had grape ice cream (not bad - tastes like real grapes and not that fake-grape taste) and rice ice cream! (i think it was actually called "rolled grain"). both not bad. i've also seen corn ice cream but havn't tried it. a place in toronto has roasted mashmallow (mmmm) and GUINESS!
